Christmas choir

At Highfield music makes our hearts sing!

Music is taught as a specialist subject throughout the school from Nursery to Year 6.

The girls take pleasure in singing and playing a wide variety of instruments from the freedom of percussion in the infant classes to the disciplined skills of the flute and violin in the juniors. There is an enthusiastic school orchestra and an all-comers choir; the talented musician can excel and every child can be guaranteed to take pleasure from making a valuable contribution to the music curriculum.

The girls learn to appreciate music and enjoy entertaining the school and wider community with their music making. The girls show high levels of motivation, commitment and skill; for some it has led to a career in the music profession.

Music scholarships to leading senior schools are often achieved by the Year 6 pupils.
