Sport

Sport plays a significant part in the school curriculum. PE is taught to all the children by qualified specialist teachers and excellent facilities are available both on and off site. All the girls take part in a wide variety of activities and many are keen to compete; sports' scholarships have been awarded to leading senior schools.

The girls excel at netball and are enthusiastic young hockey players; they learn to play team and individual sports and regularly represent the school in rounders, tennis and badminton tournaments.

The girls are very creative and talented. An extremely high standard is reached in Olympic gymnastics, educational gymnastics and apparatus work. Many girls represent clubs in competitive events outside school.

Swimming takes place throughout the year and Highfield is well known for producing superb swimmers.

The Eton College, Thames Valley Athletics Centre provides a stunning venue for all athletics events. The summer term season culminates in a competitive Sports Day.

Outdoor Adventure activities are enjoyed off site and the girls develop confidence, self-esteem and team spirit through canoeing, rock climbing and raft building.
